Let me prove why you should hire us — by showing you how to do it yourself.
I do video production. And let’s be completely transparent — I want YOU to hire me to make your social media videos. BUT I only want you to work with our video department if you actually want to. I want you to hire us because we make fun, unique videos and bring killer targeting to the table — not because you feel like you have to.
So here’s the plan: I’m going to show you how to create, record, and schedule an entire year’s worth of weekly video content. It’ll lighten your load and free you up to run your business (hopefully a manufacturing company — that’s our sweet spot). Ready? Let’s go.
Open Google Sheets or your favorite spreadsheet tool. In column A, put “Video #” and number it 1–52. You’re committing to one post a week. In columns B–E, label them:
Want to save a few minutes? Download our template and skip this step.
Start by listing 10 questions your team could answer in their sleep. These are the ones you hear all the time — on calls, at tradeshows, in emails.
Now paste this into ChatGPT:
“I need your help to write 52 video titles based on FAQs asked to experts in [YOUR INDUSTRY]. Here’s a list of 10 seed questions I get asked all the time: [paste your list]. Format the titles to be engaging on Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram. Make them easy to paste into a spreadsheet.”
Drop the final results into Column B of your tracker.
Once you’ve got the titles, ask ChatGPT to write descriptions next:
“That list looks great now. Thank you. Next, can you help me write short descriptions to accompany those posts? Format them to engage browsers on Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram. Make them easy to paste into a spreadsheet.”
Paste the descriptions into Column C.
If your boss says “we need more hashtags,” remind them that less is more. Use 1–3 that clearly identify your expertise.
Examples: #GearManufacturing, #RescueGear, #FireBoots
Add those into Column D and spot-check to make sure they fit.
Update Column E with where each post stands: Planning → Filming → Editing → Scheduled → Posted. You’ll thank yourself later.
Set aside a half-day — ideally after lunch so everyone’s fed and happy. You need a phone that shoots in 4K, and someone to hold it.
Delete bad takes as you go. Stay organized. Keep going until all 52 are filmed.
Pro tip: Make your answers evergreen so you can post them year-round. Don’t say “It’s been a hot August so far but this machine we built is working great.” Say “This machine is a newer one we use for synthetic materials that can handle anything from summer heat to winter cold.”
Feeling overwhelmed? Call us. We’ll come out and film these for you.
Email each video to yourself with the video number + title in the subject. Download to your desktop, rename them cleanly, and store them all in one place.
Use a scheduling tool like Metricool (free for small accounts), Buffer, SocialPilot, Hootsuite, or Semrush.
Congrats! You’ve got weekly content rolling. Track what performs best. Sprinkle in organic posts throughout the year when something cool happens.
Slow month? Post something off-the-cuff. Use your weekly data to build an even better content plan for next year. Make your next batch focus on the same content that worked best last time.
